Just wanted to share a few good books and articles we’ve run across during the course of our adventures with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Books awarded the thumb’s up by my young expert:

  1. All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome, by Kathy Hoopmann (great, funny, and easy-to-read)
  2. Speak Up and Get Along, by Scott Cooper
  3. Making Choices and Making Friends, by Pamela Espeland and Elizabeth Verdick

Books I have enjoyed:

  1. Hitchhiking Through Asperger’s Syndrome, by Lisa Pyles — A story of an Asperger’s child – and his family – as seen through his mother’s eyes
  2. Asperger’s Syndrome and the Elementary School Experience, by Susan Thompson Moore — Good tips and ideas for use in the classroom
  3. The Out-of-Sync Child, by Carol Kranowitz — Sensory Information
  4. The Out-of-Sync Child Has Fun, by Carol Stock Kranowitz — Games and fun ideas for kids with sensory issues

Good articles out there:

  1. A Syndrome For Success — About AS
  2. Female Asperger’s Syndrome Traits — Female symptoms present differently, from an AS woman’s point of view
  3. Somewhere Inside, A Path To Empathy — An AS man’s take on his own struggles, marriage, and growth
  4. Guide for Teachers — A generic guide that can be printed out and handed to teachers
  5. Teaching a Kid – or Adult – to Ride A Bicycle — An article that makes learning to ride a bike simpler by breaking it down into the separate skills of balance, pedaling, and steering
